COM:FOP#Japan specifically mentions this structure as an "artistic work", and in Japan, photos of these may only be used non-commercially.  fetchcomms 05:33, 14 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Violation of sculptural copyright. Japan does not allow commercial freedom of panorama for non-architectural monuments still under artists' copyrights. See prior deletions like Commons:Deletion requests/File:Tower of the Sun in Osaka.jpg; the artist Taro Okamoto is not yet dead for more than 70 years so very unfree for commercial Creative Commons licensing. Oh, the file name has been abused too many times. Someone should lock this file name so that no more uploaders will make abusive uploads of their images that violate Taro Okamoto's posthumous copyright. JWilz12345 (Talk|Contrib's.) 12:49, 2 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@JWilz12345 I’m sorry for having submitted this. Are the files in Category:Xavier Park most of which were also uploaded by me safe? There’s another photo of a statue in Himeji that I also uploaded. Immanuelle ❤️💚💙 (please tag me) 19:32, 2 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Immanuelle if the sculptures of Xavier Park in Kagoshima City are very old (that is, the sculptors died more than 70 years ago), those are fine to be uploaded here. But it appears to be "borderline" between old and recent: a Google Translation of w:ja:ザビエル公園 (鹿児島市) claims the park was established in 1949, so the statues must not be earlier than 1949 (and probably the sculptors died less than 70 years ago).
